Steam; Sea/salt/Alae clay Body Rub:
In our Lomi treatment we use steam to relax the whole body mind and soul. One can completely "let go" in our ventilated steam room which is adjustable to your comfort. In the constant mist, one focus; your wellness.
Our signature sea-salt/alae clay body rub exfoliates, enriches, draws out sweat and toxins and provides as per our Hawaiian cultural heritage, a spiritual protection and cleansing from negative energies; thus your practitioner and yourself are cleared from residues past and present that may exist in our psyche, on our bodies and in our environment.
In Hawaiian culture, Sea-salt, which holds all the trace elements and minerals needed by the human body, held in suspension in quartz crystals in the perfect parts per million, is one of 3 elements that were held sacred by our ancestors and used in health treatments, spiritual ritual, and food. The other 2 are the leaf of the Ti plant, and the leaf of the Taro. Each have crystal structures in their makeup.
Alaea clay is found on all the Hawaiian islands; some similar and some distinct to the locale. Clay has been known for its antibiotic and mineral properties. Sea salt and clay are customarily combined for food, medicine and spiritual event.
Our gentle, yet exfoliating body rub is performed with Oli (chant; prayer) in the steam, to initiate the 2 hr. wellness journey; your visit to Angelineʻs.
Angelines Lomi Anahola, Kauai.
From Travel with a Challenge: Established in 1987 by Auntie Angeline, a respected elder of the Kauai native community, Angeline's Mu`olaulani has a traditional Hawaiian atmosphere of relaxation and hospitality from the time you step through the gate of this island-style retreat until you reluctantly rejoin the outside world. Either of two 16-foot octagonal redwood and cedar steam rooms are your first stop for the steam, salt scrub and lomi massages that are the signature specialty of the ohana (family).
After purifying the body with steam and a brisk salt scrub, it's time for one of three lomi massages - hot stone treatment, a deep tissue lomi or the always-popular double [four-hand] lomi lomi.
Visits generally last two hours, but you are welcome to enjoy ohana [Hawaiian time] by steaming and relaxing on the spacious garden deck as long as you wish. 808-822-3235

From Zento Magazine: Reminiscent of the healing temples of old, Mu’olaulani offers a unique opportunity to experience true Aloha through loving hands under the panoramic Kalalea Mountain - the mystical goddess of Anahola.
An aboriginal Hawaiian practitioner of Lomilomi Pololei and La’au Lapa’au, traditional Hawaiian massage and herbal wellness treatments, Angeline is a member of the revered group of Kahuna (priestess) Lomi Lomi and La’au Lapa’au Kupuna (elder/wisdom keeper.) She and her ohana (family) were trained by Auntie Margaret, Hawaii’s most famous Lomi teacher, to provide traditional Hawaiian Wellness Treatments that include purifying steam, rejuvenating full-body scrubs using therapeutic Hawaiian Alae, sea salt and coconut oil to exfoliate, cleanse and detoxify the body. The magical Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage is given in the octagonal redwood and cedar steam rooms by two lomi practitioners at the same time.
